Literature Text

"Young lady, could I have some prune juice please?" An old woman with red curly hair, green skin and tentacles as hands asked you as you passed by her table with a tray full of dirty glasses and silverware.

"Of course, Mrs. Duhnwoody! Just give me a second, I'll be right back." You replied with a cheerful tone. Truth be told, that woman was starting to get on your nerves. You were surprised you hadn't some sort of breakdown yet.

Getting near the kitchen door, you made a 180 degrees turn and pushed it open with your backside in order to keep you from dropping all of your dishes. You walked over to the large sink, where Sarah was already cleaning some things, and dumped all of the filthy plates and spoons into the warm and soapy water. Sighing, you bright a hand up to your forehead and pushed a few loose strands of hair away. Sarah noticed your exhaustion and giggled.

"Am I giving you too much work?" She joked.

"Nah, I'm just tired of always refilling Mrs. Duhnwoody with her prune juice."

"Well, we're closing in about 15 minutes so she'll be leaving soon. Think you can build up the strength to give her one last refill of prune juice?" You closed your eyes, brought a straightened hand up to your forehead and stomped onto the floor.

"Yes, m'am!" You said in a horrible English accent as you made your way back to the dining room.

Sarah watched you walk away with a proud smile on her face.

"That girl always makes my day." She murmured to herself.

Untying your hair from the messy bun you had put them in earlier, you patted the dust off of your apron before removing it from your waist and folding it properly so it wouldn't be all wrinkly tomorrow morning. Walking by a mirror on the wall that lead to the bathroom, you checked your skin to make sure you didn't look too exhausted. Just as you were about to head upstairs to go take a shower, the front door burst open. Jim was standing under the frame, looking quite miserable and angry. You were about to greet him... But his mother seemed to have beat you to it.

"Hi, Jim. Have a nice day, sweetie?" Jim looked at her with fire in his eyes before tossing his schoolbag off of his back and onto some random table. The teenage boy stomped his way towards the bottom of the staircase, where you were standing. He didn't even make eye contact with you as he marched up the stairs and into his room. He definitely didn't have a good day, you thought.

Looking back at Sarah, you gave her a worried expression. She waved her hand, as if this wasn't the first time this has happened. But still, you didn't like seeing Jim this angry. You decided you were going to go talk to him to see if you could help him make him feel better.

"Sarah, I'm think I'm going to go take a shower. The day was pretty long and not to mention hot."

"Sure thing, ____________. I'll be downstairs if you need me."

When you finally upstairs, you made your way towards Jim's room and noticed he left his door a little open. When you peeked inside, he wasn't anywhere to be found. Until you noticed his open window. In that case, you knew exactly where he was...

~

"Jim, get down from there. You're going to kill yourself, you know." You nagged him from his window as you looked up at him, sitting on the house's rooftop. He took an annoyed glance at you before sighing and looking back into the horizon where he seemed to always find his peace of mind.

"Not now, ___________. If you're here to tell me what to do, please don't." You noticed a hint of sadness in his voice and decided to join him on the rooftop.

"Hey, tell me what's up. You've been like this for a while now."

"A while? You've only been here for 3 months and you think you know me so well..."

"I do know you, for your information." Jim sarcastically laughed at what you had just said and turned his head to look at you properly.

"Oh yeah? Prove it, smart girl." You narrowed your eyes and straightened your back.

"You like blueberry jam, you think school is a complete waste of your time, you're not good at pulling pranks because the prank always backfires on you, when you can't sleep at night you usually come up here to count the stars in hopes of boring yourself to sleep and you absolutely hate it when I call you James, James." Jim stared at you for a couple of seconds before quietly laughing and lying down.

"Alright, you got me. You actually do know some stuff about me. Now what do you wanna know?" You scootched in a little closer to him and brought your knees up to your chest to protect you from the cold that was becoming more and ore intense as nighttime fell.

"I want you to tell me what's going on. For real."

The brunet sighed hopelessly before crossing his arms behind his head.

"I got yelled at by the principal today and got a 2 hours detention next week."

"Oh crap, what for?"

"...Bad grades, and I mean like really bad grades. Oh and I sort of got into a... tiny argument with my history teacher." You shook your head and reassuringly patted his knee.

"You really don't like school, don't you?" That must of triggered something inside of him because he suddenly got up at the sound of your words.

"You have no idea how much I hate it, ___________!" He declared as he got up onto his feet. He stuck his hands into his pockets and stared at the setting sun, the orange rays giving his skin a glowing color.

"They're teaching us so many useless things and I just don't see the point in going to school anymore. There's such a big and unexplored world out there that I'm just dying to see. My only dream is to get out of here, maybe live an adventure?" Jim was now smiling as he looked at the beautiful sun go to rest. But that smile quickly vanished.

"But dreams like that are impossible. In our world, at least." Saddened by the tone in his voice, you grabbed his arm to get his attention. He looked down at you with a small frown.

"Your dream isn't impossible. Anything can be achieved, Jim." You seemed to have cheered him up a bit because the next thing you knew, he was smiling again.

"Thanks, ____________."

"And who knows? Maybe I could come with you! We'd go on all kinds of adventures." Jim laughed and wrapped a friendly arm around your shoulders.

"Sure thing, __________. Just you and me. We'd discover a whole new world."
You guys seemed to like my first mini story (which is now the prologue of this new story) about Jim Hawkins, so here's what's up next (: I just spent the past hour writing the plan for this story. There will be a few elements similar to the actual movie, others I made up, some characters will be back and a few I decided not to include. I tried my best to come up with something original and not too cliche, but oh well!

I'm a teenage girl with no boyfriend, of course there's going to be some feels and some fluffy shit...

Enjoy :iconhappyhappyplz:
